Supporting grandparents who have lost a grandchild

Yellow Welly

Are you feeling lost, alone, struggling to cope with your emotions?

Do you feel that those around you don’t understand?

Are you trying to stay strong because you are worried about your own child who is grieving for their child (your grandchild)?

The loss of a grandchild is totally different to other grief. The pain is indescribable and it never goes away. The loss of a grandchild is double grief, complicated grief, but sadly it also feels it is forgotten grief.

You can purchase Ann's book from Amazon with all proceeds going to St. Helena Hospice.

Next Meeting:
Saturday 28 March 2020 1pm-3pm
Coggeshall Wellbeing Centre, 6a Bridge Street, Coggeshall, CO6 1NP

No need to book, just turn up

Following the loss of her grandson George, aged five months, Ann soon realised that there was little support for that different kind of grief that comes with losing a grandchild. Seeing her own daughter struggle with the pain of losing her child was totally heartbreaking. Her priority was for the wellbeing of her own daughter and son-in-law, pushing her own emotions to one side, Ann  was silently falling apart, silently grieving the loss of her grandson.

Talking to other grieving grandparents made her realise that there was a need for a group where people could get in touch, meet and support each other. A group for grandparents whether their loss was through bereavement or changes in family circumstances. At such a group there is no need to feel alone, you are encouraged to talk freely and openly without judgement.

Ann is happy to announce a group supporting grandparents is NOW AVAILABLE in Essex.

If you've lost a grandchild why not come to one of our support groups held in Coggeshall, Essex or join our Facebook Group 'George's Legacy'.

Together we can support each other!
