The yellow welly story:

Why the yellow welly I hear you ask?

Our gorgeous grandson, George, spent his short life in hospital (apart from a few hours when he was allowed out briefly). Despite his many health problems George was a happy, very alert little boy, and it soon became apparent that he was drawn to the colour yellow.

On losing George we dedicated an area of our garden to him. An area where we have plants, garden ornaments and a child's bench (all in his memory). Sat by the bench we also have a pair of ornamental child's welly boots, which of course I have painted yellow!

Whilst working on setting up this group I have worked closely with a friend, who at this time was unaware of of the Yellow Wellies in our garden. Ironically however, when she was sending me ideas for the website and Facebook page she sent a picture of yellow wellies and asked what I thought. What more could I say? The Yellow Wellies had to stay, they were meant to be!

For us as a family, they are a symbol of George, they are a symbol of our support, and I hope they put a smile on your face in the same way they put a smile on mine.
